RetainedCo connects senior managers with experienced investment leaders who have already carried the decisions, transitions and responsibilities they are growing into.
Mentorship grounded in real work
This is not a course or generic coaching programme. It is a working relationship with a proven practitioner: a former CIO, COO or senior specialist who understands the function, the pressure and the trade-offs. Sessions centre on the work you are actually carrying: a system transition, a vendor decision, a team you have inherited or a role you are growing into.
Built around your cadence
You set the hours and rhythm. The relationship can support a defined project, a recurring decision forum or the longer transfer of judgement. Booked as retained advisory or fractional leadership, it commits to a monthly retainer for a minimum term of up to twenty-four months. Those engagements are billed once each calendar month has ended, and automatic monthly invoicing is not switched on yet. Either of you can end the relationship; billing runs to the end of the current month or the end of the minimum term, whichever is later.
How an introduction works
Describe the outcome, context, hours and timeline in your own words. Within 48 hours of submission, RetainedCo introduces up to three professionals whose experience fits what you are carrying, each named with their relevant tenure and availability. Each says whether they are interested, and you choose whom to engage and on what cadence.
What it costs
You pay the professional’s hourly rate plus 10% GST. Their rate range is shown once you send them a brief, or once professionals RetainedCo introduces say they are interested. The platform fee is deducted from their payout and is never added to your bill. Short engagements are paid by card, authorised when you book and charged when the engagement is confirmed complete; a card authorisation lasts seven days, so a mentoring arrangement that runs longer is invoiced through Stripe instead.
